The Bounty Sportfishing

Tuna

The Tuna fishing is excellent off the coast of Stuart, Florida during the spring and summer months but we catch’em year-round. We catch Yellowfin Tuna, Blackfin Tuna, Skipjack Tuna and Bonita. The Yellowfin Tuna will start showing up on the east side of the Gulfstream in April and continue through August. June/July is prime time for Yellowfins and they range in size from 35 to 75 pounds but it’s not uncommon to hook’em over 100 pounds. The Yellowfin Tuna is one of the hardest fighting fish in the ocean and they taste great on a plate making them one of my favorite fish to catch. The Yellowfin Tuna will be 60 to 80 miles off the coast of Stuart and The Bounty Sportfishing is the perfect combination of speed, comfort and fish-ability for an east side Tuna Trip. The Blackfin Tuna are found much closer to the coast of Stuart, Florida and range in size from 5 to 25 pounds. They start showing up about 10 miles off the beach in March/April and continue throughout the summer months. They’re not as big as the Yellowfins but taste great on a plate and they’re always ready to play the game. There’s no size limit or bag limit and you can usually expect 15 to 20 per trip. The Skipjack Tuna is a deepwater tuna in the heart of the gulfstream that is seldom targeted. They’re usually found mixed in with the Yellowfin Tuna or Blackfin and range in size from 10 to 20 pounds. The Bonita is the most abundant of the Tuna’s and range from 5 to 25 pounds. They put up a great fight but taste more like cat food than people food so they’re not a targeted speicies for most fisherman. Bonita stack up just a few miles off the beach and provide year-round action for light tackle fisherman.
