Hello Fish Fans, HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY ! Our long awaited 42 Viking Express has it’s new SEAKEEPER and we’re bringing it to the Reel Busy slip at Pirate’s Cove on Monday. THE BOUNTY is a state of the art charter boat and we look forward to taking you fishing in Stuart Florida and the Bahamas.
Sailfish, Kingfish and Bonita are providing the action from 6 to 8 miles off the beach. We’ve had a great sailfish bite in July the last two years and there here.
Blackfin Tuna have finally shown up in numbers on the ridge twelve miles offshore. Most of the blackfins are football size weighing 4 to 8 pounds. They’re plentiful and a great way to start the day before heading out in search of mahi mahi.
There’s a few mahi mahi scattered about from 5 to 10 miles offshore but our best mahi mahi action has been 15 to 25 miles out in 650 to 850 feet of water. Packs of schooling size mahi mahi are meandering north in the deeper waters of the gulfstream on weeds and debris. Most of the mahi mahi are 4 to 6 pounds with a few small gaffers in the mix.
On the Bahamas side we found an excellent Blackfin Tuna bite. We caught blackfins up to 28 pounds and a couple of 25 pounds. Most of the blackfins are 8 to 12 pounds with a few studs in the mix. The deep drop bite was excellent as usual catching Queen snapper, yellow eye snapper and grouper. We have another Bahamas fishing Adventure scheduled for next weekend and hope to track down a few yellowfin tuna.
